We believe that you can provide significant leadership wherever you are in an organisation. By assuming a dialogic stance you can help to bring about unexpected possibilities, engage people’s hearts and minds, deliver performance breakthroughs and make a difference that matters. Everyone has the potential to do this. The core of what you have to offer is already within you and your experience of life. Through awakening and deepening your leadership journey, we will explore how you can show up more effectively in your organisation and cultivate the leadership skills in those around you.

Who is this session for?

These three days will be relevant whether you have little or extensive experience in leading through dialogue or bringing about sustainable change in an emergent way. You should benefit from participating in the session if any of the following are true for you:

  • You want to unleash another kind of potential in yourself and your organisation having realised the value but also the limitations of driving delivery by performance indicators
  • You have heard about dialogue as an alternative approach to organisational change, leadership development or coaching and want to know how this may be helpful and relevant to you and your situation
  • You expect to give leadership direction to those who are accountable to you, and support to those to whom you answer, but you find yourself trapped in complex issues and dilemmas and at times you are not sure what to do
  • You long to grow the skill and capacity of your team to talk and think together effectively having experienced miscommunications and habitual attitudinal impasses
  • You want to become a dialogic practitioner and need to understand the whole territory before going more deeply into specific growth areas

What will the session cover?

During the session we will engage with a range of dialogic practices, patterns and principles as well as considering case studies and leadership change models in application.

We will enquire into the whole spectrum and territory of leadership (including performance, wisdom, visionary and citizen leadership) to help you discern and understand your strengths and growth areas, and thereby support the next steps on your leadership journey.

How will you benefit from this session?

You will find that your effectiveness as a leader depends on more than your current skills and good intentions to help others. It is also contingent on your personal growth and development. Through participating in this session, you will enlarge your leadership capacity by being able to:

  • Recognise and articulate your strengths and developmental needs in the four domains of performance, wisdom, visionary and citizen leadership
  • Initiate and participate in powerful conversations through knowing when and how to apply the principles and practices of dialogue
  • Distinguish between technical and adaptive change and understand how a dialogic approach can bring about sustainable change in your team/organisation

Participating in this session will equip you to make a positive shift in your current situation, so that you are better able to lead effectively from where you are.

What is your commitment?

Prior to the session you will be asked to do some reading, some preparatory thinking and to have a 30-minute telephone ‘entry’ call with one of the faculty. Following the session you will have the opportunity for another 30-minute telephone ‘value’ call to consider the value of the session to you and how you can realise this in your working situation.
